I've got one big red zebra and I'm trying to figure out what else to put in there. There are so many different types of cichlids to choose from, and I'm kind of lost. Of course I want fish that are bright and active, but I don't want to see any fins missing. please help
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

one more question what is the best for cichlids gravel or sand?

Hi supersam,

There's so many Mbuna to choose from, probably your best bet is to pick out some fish that you would like to keep and post them here to get people's opinions. You are going to have a lot of options and you'll get some good advice on here with regard to whats compatible etc.

Work out what you fancy and let us know. :D

With regard to substrate, sand is what is there in their natural environment but gravel works just as well (smaller sized gravel is better as Mbuna like to move it around)
