I need to move fish from, one tank into another quickly,if I use some of the tank water from the tank the fish are in and the filter and put them in the tank I'm going to use, will it take long to cycle?

If you carryover the filter and gravel, it will be cycled already. The water isn't necessary, as the water does not have the bacteria in it.

Is it already cycled by doing that? When I changed my filter over from one tank to another I ended up having to go through a partial cycle. I recall it going through the nitrite cycle again... hmmm... maybe I did something wrong? I know that every tank is different, but was just wondering. Maybe it's because I didn't bring over any gravel. (My tank is doing great, no worries ;) )

I would think that if enough of the bacteria is transferred over, there should be no problem, which is why i think at least some of the gravel should be moved. But true though, there may be a mini-cycle, so test it frequently, cat.

Yes, i think it would  . Any ornaments, driftwood, fake plants, anything where the bacteria can grow on would help.
