this morning i switched the light on my tank and i saw my my tetras fighting and chasing each other and every now and then they will rub against each other then go into a skits and start what looks like fighting

Hi JHt
They might be getting ready to mate i had this sort of behavier with my harlequin fish. They were just fighting and chasing each other and then some paired of and the males rubed up against the females and fertilized the eggs as the female layed her eggs.

Do they have alot of space in the tank or are they packed in with other fish?

They might be getting slightly territorial which can happen with small tetras when they are the only fish in the tank. They have alot of space in that tank all to them selves so they may be claiming area's of water to them selves.
