Hi Discus :)

What size is your tank? What other fish share the tank? Any new additions? And have you tested the water for Ammonia and Nitrites etc?

Are tank is shared with two guppy’s  and two lemon tetra :p the tank is about 30 litres :D

How long have you had the tank set up?
Do you test the water at all, i think a test kit is a must to be honest or atleast take a sample of the water so they can test it at the fish shop, that way you can tell if anything is wrong

30 litres is really way too small for the tiger barbs

the tank has been set up for a year now  and i test the water at my local fish shop every other week

thats great that you do that, what were the results last time you went?

How often do you change the water, do you use dechlorinator?

your tank is only large enough for a few fish im afraid, 2 guppies
and a few tetras etc is about the limit

Aside from the small tank .....Tiger barbs are fairly sensitive fish when it comes to water quality. How often do you do water changes? I would say your tank is fairly overstocked and frequent water changes would be ideal to keep atleast a stable enviroment for them. Do a water change and see if that helps....also next time you get your water tested take special attention to your Nitrite levels as Tiger's dont cope well with it.

I had changed the water yesterday  and things a looking up  they seem to have regained there colour

p.s. I only have two lemon tetra and one guppy with the barbs :/

and thanks for all your help

id do 50% water changes (some declorinator is a must if you havent got any) twice a week and feed only once a day untill you get ur water tested and has and the results for ammonia and nitrite are both 0

Also save up for a bigger tank to house those barbs

I have the big tank but I am scared to put them in there with my discus :)

p.s. the barbs are only small
