I treated tank for whitespot yesterday and Im just wondering if or when I should treat it again.
So far its just one platy got it and he/she isnt looking any better but I dont want to stress my pregnant guppy too much.
So any ideas will be a great help
thanks :dunno:

What meds are u using pooh?

I've had white spot on my plattys a few times.

U should continue treating until the spots have gone and then for a little while afterwards too.

I used king british whitespot control, every 2 days, for about 2 weeks in all. Had to remove the carbon from my filter too.

I treated with king british white spot control.
I think the other name for white spot is ick but not too sure.
It has tiny white spots basically all over but mainly in the fins and tail. They dont look fungal just like tiny grains of salt.

If it looks like tiny grains of salt, then it is ick. Is the pregnant one the one with the ick? If she isn't you could take her out and put her in another tank(if you have one). You could also try Ick Clear by Jungle, it usually works pretty fast. It's a tablet that fizzes in the water.

Jungle meds for Ick work great just don't use it for finrot

It does nothing for for finrot Melafix is the best for finrot

its not the pregnant one with ick but I dont have another tank to put her in.
Shes getting bigger by the day and looks like she will have the fry any day now.
