hello everyone

i recently started a fresh water tank and i have 2 Red Wag Platy's one male and one female....i just noticed today that the female has some sort of tag on her anal fin and i have no idea what it is...she is acting normal and doesnt look pregnant...i was wondering if anyone might be able to explain this to me.

well it extends off the anal fin and its clear/white and i noticed she moves it

Um..it sounds like a poo..are you sure it's not that and is actually connected to the anal fin? Sorry if that sounds insulting to your intelligence, but it is honestly an easy mistake for newbies to make.

well i have had the fish for 3 months and it just appeared......and i am 100 percent sure its not poo

Could it be that she's near to giving birth? Often female livebearers show a 'breeding tube' when it's near their due date.

that is a possibilty...but she doesnt look any bigger
