Help !

I have just found 2 fish, a clown loach and a catfish from my new tropical tank dead this morning. Its a newly established aquarium (been up and running about 2 months I think).

I have just done one of those test things and plan to do a partial water change but need help reading the results... I failed chemistry !

The readings say:

general hardness is 30

carbonate hardness is 40

pH is 6.5

Nit o2 is O

Nit o3 is 20

Any idea what killed them???

Hi and Welcome,
First how did you 'cycle' the tank, was it with the fish in, or by a fishless cycle with a source of ammonia?

Secondly, what size is the tank?

And do you have a test for ammonia?

Nitrite looks fine as does nitrate but an ammonia reading would be very helpful.
