Please fill this out to help us help you;

Tank size:
pH:
ammonia:
nitrite:
nitrate:
kH:
gH:
tank temp:

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):

Volume and Frequency of water changes:

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:

Tank inhabitants:

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):

Exposure to chemicals:

Digital photo (include if possible):

Any tank in a public area, especially one with a lot of kids, needs to be secured against tampering, constantly watched, or both. First and cheapest thing I would do is increase the water change frequency & amount, as this will dilute anything that may have gotten into the tank that doesn't belong.

The only thing you have to watch for is in the case of a poorly maintained tank. If this is the case, daily 10% water changes for a week will slowly acclimate the fish to tap water, larger water changes can be done after that.

Can you describe the growth.
