I amnew to tropical fish keeping and set up my tank about six weeks ago. I waited 10 days before introducing the fishand followed all the advice that my local fish shop gave me. The sat up is a fluval 90 ltr tankthat is serviced by a tetratex 600 external filter system and the water temperature is a constant 24c. Up untill a couple of days ago everything was absolutely fine but allof a sudden my water has become very milky. I have taken allthe neccessary measurements and allchemical levels are still fine. I have lost four fishin the last two days and obviously need to halt this slide. Any help or information that would help would br greatly appreciated. At present the number of fishin the tank are as follows. 4 male Guppies, 4 PLATTYS, 2 black mollies,2 silver mollies, 1 sucking loach, 2 peppered catfish, 2 dwarf gouramis, 2 silver gouramis, 5 neon tetras, 4 glowlights.1 siamese fighter male.

Hello and welcome to the forum. :hi:

It sounds like a bacterial bloom and the fact that you have lost fish would lead me to believe you have ammonia and nitrite problems, especially with that heavy a fish load in a new tank. What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH?
