I have had a tank going for a couple of years except for a couple months when I moved.
I was super excited to get my tank up and running about 6 months ago
I have a rope fish, a senegal bichir and a smaller bichir, 2 largish red fin tin foil barbs.
I bought a spiney eel 2 days ago and noticed this evening he has weird looking white spots. They seem almost fuzzy?
Is this a common affliction in eels and any idea how to help him?
He isn't very active and his breathing seems a bit labored(not sure as I haven't had a lot of time to study him while he wasn't ill.
Thanks all

Wow can you tell I'm new? I totally put this in the wrong forum
Not sure how to get it moved.

steel will take care of it :) I read this lastnight but I figured I'd give you a while to notice on your own before I said anything :D

Sounds like fungus... do you have sand? Spiny Eels MUST be kept in sand. Gravel will cause the fungus because it's too rough on their skin. It could be other things as well like a fluctuating temperature. Check all of your water parameters. How big is the tank?

I'm not really sure what the best treatment is... Maybe maracyn

I'm not sure how it will affect eels though. You may want to wait for someone more experienced...
