Help!

From my experience, betta's should not be kept with guppies. The betta's fins will most likely be nipped and so will the guppies  . I think a betta with mollies would be ok. If you were to get guppies you would a least need a group of three or more. :good: I had a male betta that was with a platy and they lived together 4 a long time. Platies are really calm and are very peaceful. You could get some platies instead of guppies. :flowers:

No. Guppies and bettas arent a good mix, and sometimes not even mollies. The tank is also (imo) too small for mollies. They get bigger than the other common livebearers (3 inches) and need (imo) at least a 10 gallon tank.

I have 4 very colourful guppies in with my betta, and my betta isn't interested in them. It's quite a big tank though, so there's a lot of other fish, and scenery for him to look at. He doesn't really have a go at anyone, except to flare at his own reflection.

I went into the pet shop last week, they had a new delivery of Betta's.
They had put a male in with guppies. I went in the next day 2 of the guppies were minus their tails and looked half dead, a 3rd guppy had a huge chunk out of his tail.
