one and maybe two of my female guppies seem to have red spiky bits sticking out of where they have a poo and that part of them seems lowered slightly . One you can definitly see it and just a bit on another.
I cant get pics im afraid. anyone know what it is?

ok thanks that makes sense because an older fish of mine did go thin and eventualy die. i looked and asked on here about it and none new what it was so im guessing its the same thing. Only prob is my parents are away at the moment and i cant get to any LFS until after the 29th.

thanks for that link.
Two of my other guppies have it aswell i dont have another tank for them to go in but have just put them in a bowl of tank water as i dont want it to infect my other fish though it already probably has.

Yes they are nasty things, i would try and find a med, or the only other thing to do is destroy the infected fish and strip the tank down and sterlise everything and start again.

what would be the best way to euthanise the fish because i know im not going to be able to get any meds for over a week. I dont want my fish to die but i dont want them to suffer either.

None of the other fish in my tank seem affected at the moment.

Add some very cold water to a jug add some ice cubes as it has to be really cold, add the fish it takes about 30 seconds, but leave the fish in to make sure it has passed on. Sorry bless them.

well i cant find one fish in my tank saw her this morning but no sign so think she may have died but two still def have them. Ok thanks for all the advice.
