Hi i am new to this site, i have a 4 foot fish tank but am having problems with fish dying
It all started about a week ago when i bought an elephant fish
I floated the bag for 40mins like the person at the shop told me. Put the fish in 10 mins later the fish died.
Since then i have had some guppies (male and female) one of my females had 10 babies, all the guppies including the fry have died, ive lost 4 scissor tails and am very sad to say 2 clown loaches.
Im gutted i have done a 20% water change and checked the water and the test strip is saying it is fine.
If anyone could help me i could really do with some advise.
And to top if off today i lost my largest clown loach im gutted!

Well, there's obviously something very wrong here so let's check the basics:

- Is the water the right temperature? (Should be around 25 Degrees C)
- Have you removed the chlroine from the water?
- How long has the tank been set up?
- Has it housed fish before? Did they live long?
- You say the test strip said it was OK, what was it testing. Ammonia and NitrIte need to be 0.
- Is there any possibilty that chemicals could have got into the tank?
- Did you add the water in the bag into your tank?
- Is the tank cycled?

There are many more questions before we can figure out what is wrong but try answering these ones first.
