I own a 10gallon tank which started off with Four Platies Four Sword Tails and Four small Oscars. In the past few days alone three of the platies have died, as I'm writing this one of the oscars is motionless gasping on the aquarium floor. There are aquatic plants in this tank and I need help figuring out how to deal with this issue. I'm sure its parasites because a day before one of the platies died he had a stringy white fungus growing on his upper fin. Please someone help me!

Oscars shouldn't even be in that size tank, it sounds like bad water quality to me, what are your stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, i would recommend an immediate water change.
The stringy thread on his mouth sounds like mouth fungus and you will need to treat.

Hey, Thanks for the help. I brought a water sample to my local pet store, sure enough the ammonia lvl was through thr roof. They suggested frequent water changes and gave me some discounts on cleaning supplies. I have well water so I have to change the water every week or so. Thanks for the help.
