the tank i have is a 26 gallon tank. its really nice.
i have the 16 Bow Front Black Geneva Series Aquarium the website says it is a 26 gallon. i was just wondering if this many fish can fit. the fish im getting are 6 neon tetras, 6 guppys, 4 dwarf rasbora, 3 coolie loach, 1 betta (male) 1 butterfly chicled, 1 blue perch, 5 glofish and 1 of those goldfish who look like there eyes are coming out of their head.
http://aquaticcritter.com/Critter_News/GloFish.htm the link is to some info about the glofish. i appreciate any help i can get. thanks

Stop your list at the betta, and the tank will be fully stocked. I think you may have compatability issues between the betta & the guppys, someone more familiar with betta or guppies might be able to help with this. If so, subistute the glofish for the betta.

Ive just had a look at that tank and it is not 26g ive calcualted it to be 20g its 20x13x18 which is 20.25g so you are limtied as to what you can house. Loose the betta they will not do well in a community tank at all especiall with guppies loose the gold fish you can have tropical and goldfish together. If i was you i would have the 6 neons maybe 2 dwarf gouramis and 3 guppies all one sex so probably female and possibly 2-3 corys for the bottom buy pygmy corys then you will be fully stocked there is lots of combinations to fish you could have but you can only have small fish in that small tank.

really fast im gonna put in what i think should go in there...

6 fancy tailed guppys, 5 glofish, 3 dwarf rabora and 1 butterfly chicled. hopefully that will work thanks. plz reply.

It's not the best plan, so ...

There's nothing wrong with guppies in there though. By all means, I recommend them to you.
The butterfly also seems a sound choice, as it won't get too large (As far as Cichlids go anyway), and seem to be of a good nature. Just remember to include a lot of hiding places for everyone.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'glofish', but the other 3 species seem better without them. Currently, the rasboras may also be somewhat small for the environment, but then, I can't be certain. As long as there are hiding spaces and they're fast, they should do okay. Just note that all 3 species you've 'settled' on thrive in the middle level of the tank. Guppies may wander around the top frequently, and the butterfly might spend a lot of time at the bottom, but in the end, they're going to spend a lot of time together in the middle, so do your best to keep them occupied in the other levels of the tank.

Hope this helps. Someone else want to comment?

just a couple of thoughts:

your dwarf rasboras are schooling fish so they will want to be in greater numbers, at least 6 (particularly as they may feel overwhelmed with the other fish)

the glofish are a kind of danio. Danios are very fast-swimming fish, and need to be in groups of at least 6-8 to avoid aggression problems. They can fin-nip, so should not go in with a betta (fighting fish), and probably not with fancy guppies either, at least not male guppies. They are surface fish.

I would say it's a good idea to decide from the start whether you want a fast zippy tank (danios) or a gentle peaceful tank (guppies, dwarf rasboras). Khuulie loaches could go in either- they don't live on the same levels as the danios, so wouldn't be bothered by them; also, danios are primarily day fish, while khuulies are largely nocturnal. Not sure if the khuulies would clash with the cichlid, though.

the first thing me and my freinds found was that the male bettas (depending on the size) ussualy eat the young guppies. another thing we found was that the male bettas eat tetras (again depending on size). it ate mine in 1 gulp....

ok, i went back to the store where i bought my tank and they said my tank was a 26 gallon tank but someone calculated it up and it was 20. so what should i believe i want to believe the store. also the guy at the fish store said that that i need to find somemore fish to go on the bottom, and more at the top to spread things out. sounds reasonable, so if anyone knows any primarily fish that love to be at the tp or bottom plz reaspnd.

Is your tank the 24" 26 gallon or the 20" 16 gallon?

This make a big difference to what you can keep.

the dimensioms of your tank are 20x13x18 that is 20g tank mate the lfs is just trying to get more money from you.
