Help

Debbie - are you related to my husband? He made sofa's out of cardboard boxes to check they'd be the right size....

LOL annka5, i normally use a tape measure, but i wanted to make sure how a tank would look & the only thing i could think of was using boxes, it gives you a good idea if its going to be over powering for the room, i made the mistake of buying too small in the past

As big as you can afford and as big as you can fit nicely in your house.
I was given a 48x15x12 off my dad after vowing never to keep fish again as I got addicted now im looking to upgrade later in the year but I cant get anything too big as anything wider than 12inches will stop me from opening a door lol.. I need a bigger house.

My first tank is a Rio 180  had for 2 weeks and just done my first partial water change :)

I think we could safely say that no matter how big of a tank you get you'll always want a bigger one. Walking through the LFS looking at the 400 gal tanks...

Keep in mind there are also lots of options for smaller tanks with regards to stocking and layout. To start off though, I'd go big. You can always find room to sqeeze in another 10 gallon or two later. ;)

Good luck with it, keep us posted.
