I was asked by my local aquatic store if I would give a home to a Tilapia Mariae as it was given to them by somone who could no longer keep it ,and it was at Aprox 6in to big to sell on, I was more than happy to do this as I think it is a stunning and beutiful fish and as it turned out I had a tank set up which I had tried to move a big red oscar some weeks earlier without much luck it just starved it'self until I returned it to it's original tank, anyway the tilapia has been here for 5 days now and I have tried pelletts, bloodworm, mussells and spinich it does'nt seem interested any ideas folks.

Many Thank's

try feeding it live foods like, bloodworm or river shrimp.
also you may wish to try Hikari cichlid gold
which is the only thing a particularly stubbon nibochromis
we had at work would eat.

did both the fish that wont eat go in the same tank?

so is the tilapia in the tank the oscar was going in.

Yes and I see what you are thinking I should have mentioned there is a fire eel (mastacembelus erthrotaenia) in that tank who is eating fine and I have had this tank set up for about a year, all the tests I have done on the water are fine the oscar just turned his back on me any time I went near him and sulked also the guy in the shop told me he had it him for about a ten days and it was quite picky about what it would eat it comes to the top as you approach the tank but then retreats under the filter when you open the lid.
