So I'm in the middle of a fishless cycle that is starting to progress well, and am hoping will end in the near future. Now I'm really

focusing on what fishies to put in my 29g tank. I was thinking about getting some corys, they seem to be very popular here, and I

think I'm growing fond of them. Also looking at zebra danios, and noticed some rasboras at the store the other day. Any opinions on

these fish and their compatibility... or other fish maybe I should consider. Also opinions on the size of the schools I should get.

I'm cool with just getting 2-4 different species if it means keeping them happier.

Corys are great. Mine are quite lively and they do a great job at the bottom of the tank.

I think sticking to just a few species is definitely the way to go. I personally try to select fish and plants from the same locality to help them feel at ease.

I think corys would do fine with Zebras. The recommendations I have seen are 5-6 zebras, and 6+ on the corys. What level is your pH once the water settles in your tank?

Right now its like 8 because of the baking soda I used to raise it for cycling purposes. But my regular water supply is low, around 6.

6 is pretty low...might need to double check the pH preferences of the fish. I usually google and check 3-4 sources to get an average pH per fish type.
