Help With Sand Please

I've got sand but what's the best thing to use to clean it?
I also found when you stir up the sand there is alot of algae hidden under it how can I stop this or reduce it?

Use a gravel vac to clean it ... keep it just above the surface of the sand and then swirl it around. You'll create a little vortex that will bring up the detritus that's lighter than the sand.

There shouldn't be anything hidden under the sand! What kind of sand do you have?? Can you post a photo?

have you got a link to the cleaner you use as the sand in ur pic is really clean also how often do you clean the sand?

It's just a length of clear air line. But you can use a gravel vac, sold at any LFS. I have a pleco in this tank so I clean every other day.

I just use a hose pipe, seems to 'suck' better lol.
