Little while ago we had fry appear in the tank (didnt know platy was pregnant) anyway i managed to save 2 fry that i saw but unfortunatly they died in the breeders trap about 3 to 4 week later (whats the ideal time to keep fry in trap?) and whats ideal food to feed them i was feeding them liquidfry i think its called about 3 times a day?

now ive read up on pregnant platy and saw lots of pics etc but does anyone have very clear pics on some platys pregnant from early stages to just before dropping? so i can look out for this for future as i read they breed a LOT

any replies would be appreciated

Usually I wouldn't keep live bearer fry in breeder nets/traps for over a month.   It can stunt growth.  I feed my guppy fry (I've had mollies before too) Hikari First Bites and crushed flake.  Feed them 4-5 times a day at first if you can.  Make sure not to over due it, you don't want to pollute the water.

Here's a vid of stages of guppy pregnancy.  I couldn't find one on platys, sorry. :/  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMU5wEsLX7w

Good luck on the fish!

thx for reply anyone help with more defined pics etc?

No problem; even though most of the fish there are guppies and mollies, platies will show the same signs :)
