I have a 28 gallon hex tank with a penguin 170 bio wheel and a maxi-jet 400 power head. I have about 15+ lbs of live rock. I currently have 3 damsels in my tank, but I have had them as starter fish for a year now, and I'd like to take a shot at a more challenging marine fish. I would be taking the damsels back to lfs so I would have no tank mates. I currently have a CC star and a purple reef lobster, both I will not part with. I am wondering if you guys could give me any ideas of fish that would be good in a tank that size with the Reef lobster and Star... I was considering a valenteni puffer or a coral beauty, but any suggestions would be great...

Also a part 2 to my question - in a 55 gallon tank my girlfriend and I have, we are looking for a bigger fish to add to the tank, but undecided on that one too. We have 1 maroon clown and 1 pygmy angel currently... We are concerned with a fish that would attack or eat the inverts in the tank - 1 decorator crab and 2 boxer crabs... My girlfriend was liking a Picasso trigger, but was concerned about it eating or attacking the crabs...Any suggestions on that?? Thanks guys!

If you want a challenging fish try purple anthiasas they extremly shy and hard to get to eat. I am not sure what size tank it neees because i dont have to worry about that 175g tank and 300g ftw.

As for the 55g tank you can look into getting a small eel. As long as the fish currently in the tank arent to small to fit in its mouth you should be ok. Make sure to get a top and the right kind of eel that wont find youre 55g to small.
other than eels and tangs idk what to tell you. Well cinnamon clown with a rose bta thats what i house in my tank and it is awsome to be able to keep an anemone.

I think the 28g would be great with a coral beauty and a puffer. Also look into hawkfish.

For the 55g I think picasso triggers get too large.
You could try a wrasse, or some anthias, or a blenny, or maybe a foxface.
