hi could anyone please help me with my male sail fin molly. hes acting strange hes shaking in mid water, his fins not clamped nor spread. he swims fine other wise and is sexual active towards the female. but he does this when the female is not in view of him. i thought he was just showing to her but as he does it even when he cant see her i dont think this is the case. he also done it to the side of the tank, his reflection maybe? my waters fine all tested good the other fish are fine and even breeding.
i cant understand why hes acting like this so if anyone could help please do asap.

What the temp?
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Shaking can be temp, parasites, the shimmies the fish will swim in place.

It could be the shimmies, as far as I know that's brought on by lack of salt and treated by adding salt. It sounds a lot like the shimmies actually, because I read up on it since I've been keeping two mollies in a freshwater tank (salt at 1gram/litre because the bristlenose doesn't appreciate brackish water).

Shimmies can also be brought on by rapid water temperature changes.

my ph is high for what id like it to be its ph7 but other than a RO unit i cant lower it and keep it low (iv tested alot of tips in a small hospital tank so that my fish dont get stressed by the ph dropping and rising) n/n/a are all 0 so there fine my temp is always at a 81f and all fish seem happy and fine with this temp, and stays steady at that temp, i thought if its something in or not in the water that it would affect the female molly as well but shes fine. he has settled down today hes still shaking but not as much as yesterday. hes also stopped wizzing around as much to as by late last night he was acting like a child that just got into the sweety jar and eat the lot lol

What other fish are in the tank.

just saying thanks to everyone who replyed. last night i noticed a few of my danios had white spot so i put in treatment for that and this morning my male molly is fine he isnt shaking nor wizzing around. i guess he must have been coming down with it to, but iv never known a molly to act that way over it but the main thing is he,s fine now and will finish treatment as its a 3day one. thanks all.

Good luck.
