hi could someone help me pick some lighting for my 5x2x2 tank. ive seen in my lfs a stater for two tubes think it was around £46 and think it might have been about 40watts . i was planning on getting two. but if i can save abit on the lighting i could get more ciclids ive only started with 8 getting another 4 this weekend

ok maybe someone has a pic of what im looking for i wanted to get a 40watt twin starter with proglow 48" tubes. will this be ok as i would like to bring out the colours of the fish yet making sure it wont be to bright. anyone using these bulbs a pic would be great if anyone could help

well in the end i went for a twin t8 with 48" power glow tube. :hyper:

hmm I wonder why I haven't seen this post before. Odd.

I was going to say a single globe would be fine for a fish only tank but a twin 4ft fluoro will be fine too.
The main reason you have lots of light is for plants or corals in a marine tank. Fish don't need much and we only need enough to see the fish.
