I was looking through my tank the other day and noticed I must a picked up a hitchiker that might be clam or something. I put it in the refugium until I have an ID for sure. I think it is some type of clam or possibly a mussel. Shortly after placing it in the refuge it drug itself around in a circle and then flipped over. It opens up just a bit for hours at a time and there is a little tenticle or someting that pokes out and waves around.

Any ideas? I have searched for a couple of days now.

It does look like some sort of clam or mussel and I'd leave it in the fuge to help filter your water!

No not really. If it has survived as a hitchhiker it should be pretty hardy. As they are filter feeder an occassional dosing of phytoplankton or marine snow should be adequate but I do not believe it will be necessary! ;)
