Help With Ick

I have a real stupid question. Can plants carry ick??

My Discus has ick, no new fish are in there, water changes done religiously. The only thing new is some live plants I just put in.

If I were to treat the tank for ick will this also kill my live plants??

I treated my tank with mardel's ich remover and it did not harm my plants.

Could do I guess, the parasite/spores could be attached to the plants.

However, most tanks have most diseases in them as the fish carry them, more often than not with no ill effect. Humans are the same, we carry all sorts of nasty things but most of the time you don't know about it.

I reckon its more likely that adding the plants stressed the discus what allowed the ich to take hold.
