I am still very new to this and the problem i have is with guppies.
When i first added fish to the tank i had 3 guppies from LFS, 1 x male, 2 x female.
Within 1 week 1 female died (no obvious signs of disease etc) and then the other female died 2 days after. I decided to get another 2 females. But then the male died 2 days later, then the other two females died 4 days later within a day of each other. By this time we were thinking it was a bad batch from the lfs so decided not to get any more from him. I got another 5 guppies from a different supplier a week ago and this morning found one female dead. I am worried that i may lose the others. All the other fish are fine and no problems. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Lynn

It sounds like your tank never cycled properly. I had the same problem when I added too many fish to a new tank even though the tank had actually been running for a month.. :(

I would give a new tank setup at least 4 to 6 weeks to cycle and slowly add one or two fish. I've had my 29gal tank about a year now, and I would say that my fish stopped croaking off and the tank settled about 6 months ago. Yep, my experience seems to show it takes THAT long.. :/

Also watch those nitrates..., you should be reading "0"...

In conclusion, no matter what the temptation: Don't add any more fish for a couple of weeks!!

i a gree wit guppy gal dont add any more fish until ur water is all takin care of, thats definately the problem. your other fish may jus be stronger so they can tolerate it better i dunno.
