just wondering on what fish are okay together in a tropical tank i have around £30 to spend on a few fish for now but was wondering what would be the best to go for i do know that i would like a few neon tetras and also a couple of glass catfish but what else would be okay in there?

If you get neons and glassfish, go with 5+ of each. You can then add, mollies, platies, swordtails, (the list goes on forever), etc. If you could give the tank size, and your taste of fish, it would help.

not sure on the exact measurements just that it's a 58litre tank i've managed to calculate that if i use the 1cm fish to 1.5 litres of water so if i use that principle i can get a max of 39 fish in the tank although for now i'd only like around 20 or so for now just until i know that my tank is set up properly as we live in a hard water area although i've added the stress coat stuff to the water and also the live bacteria stuff and i've also stuck a few flakes of food (about 10) ad crushed them up and dropped them in the water for the bacteria as it said to do that in the instructions

forgot to mention that my tastes are towards things like tinfoil and tiger barbs, catfish, pleco's, tetra's (most varieties) generally small ones but the really brightly coloured one's although i've fallen in love with some albino plecs at my local petstore

That's a 15 gallon tank which means that you can get about 15 inches of fish, which would be about 7 guppies.

39 fish, of any kind, would be seriously overstocked.

well I've now done my stocking of the tank, I now have: 2 Zebra danios, 2 White cloud mountain minnows, 2 Black widow tetras, 2 Albino catfish, 1 Plecostomus, 4 Serpae tetras, 5 Glowlight tetras and 5 Neon tetras.

absolutely shedloads of room left and with that little selection I have some beautiful colours swimming round the tank :D

Did you put all these fish in at once? You should add fish very slowly...

Did you cycle? And you clearly have done no research on the fish at all.
