What kind of CO2 is this? I'm assuming a liquid form of some sort?

If you have good water circulation and good surface movement (think lots of little ripples), then the chances of you killing your fish with CO2 are slim. The best way to measure CO2, at least the method that works best on my budget, is to get what is called a dropchecker.

Take a look at this article from PARC...

A Guide to Dropcheckers

I have run enough CO2 to get my dropchecker yellow, and it has caused no harm.
