hi folks. If you look to the left of this pic you will see a shoal of blue rainbows. Their is one that is very fat and looks pregnant, I have looked into this and apparently its a male? larger than the female with red fins and we have 5 females with yellow fins and slimmer bodies. We have 4 more males and they are ok. Water changes are done regular and water tests are all ok. He is in a 8ft 6" tank with lots of community fish and they are fine, Temp is 29. Have made this higher and treated with king british all disease clear. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks xxx

what are your water readings?

nitrite, nitrate, ph, ammonia

It could be constipation or dropsy but cant tell from that picture.

Nitrite is 0
Nitrate is 40
Ammonia is 0
Ph is 6.5

i thought maybe dropsy. He swims with the others sometimes but mostly stays at top. Looks a little eratic with breathing too. Been like this for 5 days now

Hi there. Have just read that we cant put salt in tank has we have corys and loaches :-(

A salt bath on it own it will help draw the fluids out.
