:-( Hello, I am new to this site, I have come for help, I have a 55 gallon tank, and only have one oscar in it, I have to add that I have had this tank and Oscar now for over 5 years and never had any problems that I could not figure out, until now!!!

my tanks water has turned green, not the glass or anything in it, just the water I have done a water change and then I have changes the whole tank. rocks and all and it just keeps turning green on me... I notice just this evening that my temp, was 83 in it and I have turned that down, in hopes that might be the reason that it is turning green,

can anyone please help me with this!!! -_-

I'm going to bump this up so someone can answer you (as I have to go eat supper, lol), but I can tell you that it was a very bad idea to completly clean the whole tank, thats 5 years worth of good bacteria down the drain, and your oscar will have to go through the tank cycling, which could kill it unfortunatly if your not careful.

Temp for oscars should be 72 - 77 according to my Baensch book so you were a little warm at 83.

Does it look like the green water algae on here:

If so then follow the advice mentioned.

This post shows how another member solved the problem:

Also, it would be useful to know lighting wattage + length of time
Water stats: ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
Do you have any real plants? (unlikely with an oscar I know but worth asking)

ps :hi: to TFF
