If there in a 12gal tank not surprised you having problems, and i'm sorry but this sounds like a wind up post.

whut does a wind up post? n why r u surprised ii have had this tank for about a year this is the first time this has happened

Post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

so ill buy a test kit...whut should good reading for all of those ammonia etc...and its for a betta and snails...

Ammonia and nitrite should be 0, nitrate a good reading anywhere from 0 to 40, what do you have in the tank, most of the fish there need a big tank and the bala's need a 125gal tank.
