i have recently bought a new caniser and it has a white substance in there.

at first i just thought it was sand, but its hard, stuck like glue, and looks... well wierd

it looks either like worms and eggs... or paint?

the dots look like the shells that you find stuck to rocks at the beach

i'm a bit peeved as i was going to test run it on my current tank, so i could leave feedback for it.... and am worried about it contaminating my tank

Was it out of a marine tank? That is what some marine (not harmful) worms look like.

will google that now.

but what is planaria? what does it do/harmful etc?

edit: i do not like worms  will have to get kev to check later, the pics just turned my stomach on google

should have seen me after i realised what they were (i am a MASSIVE girl when it comes to wrigglers/bugs etc)

the 'worms' in the canister to apear to be planaria, however they are dry and crusty and are currently soaking in a mild milton and saltwater solution, so i see no way of them surviving !

apparently theyre copepods, it was a marine set up
