Please help!
My Red Forest Jewel has been swimming to the side lately.
I have no idea how it could happen, I havnt done anything new to the tank.
A friend suggested it could be bladder problem..if so how can I possibly treat it ?
Its so hard to watch her and not do anything about it.
PLEASE HELP ASAP!
any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

thanks so much.

Does she look bloated? If so it could be swim bladder or constipation. Feed peas to clean out if she looks bloated.
Have you seen her go potty lately?
Does she have any control of swimming?

Often when fish lose swim bladder control, there is no cure to their disease except for time. Some will return to normal, some will stay alive but swim very oddly, and some will succumb. Is there anything else besides an odd tilting?

Thanks Fiskies and Araura Discus.

She does have control of swimming. As soon as its feeding time she swims normally and then goes back to being sideways.
Her color is pale at times but most of the time it tends to be more solid. I'm not sure if this could be result of lighting or other factors.
I've seen her to potty a little bit yesterday.
I've tried to feed her peas, but shes not interested.

Any tips on how to make peas more appealing ? & How long do you think until she regains swim bladder control ?

Not sure about making peas more appealing. However you can use Daphnia too, it works just the same. Good Luck!
