Today I've noticed what look like bugs on the surface of the tropical tank. They're white and jump on the surface. Will they cause a problem and what's the best way to get rid of them?

If it helps they could have somehow been transferred from our pond?

Thanks for any help, I'm useless when it comes to bugs / insects.

Yes! They never seem to be 'in' the water just on top of it and jump quite high. They're all white and the platy fry seem to enjoy eating them if they catch one before it jumps! It's hard to say what they look like as they're too small, just hoping they don't increase in number!

if i was you i would hope they icrease in number, its just live food for your fish. if they will cause no harm i would just leave them and let the fish eat them.

The tank is next to the dinning room table though, so it's not very nice the thought of them all jumping around! We're doing a large water change on Friday, so hopefully will shift most of them out.

If it is something harmful I'll soon find out, as they fry in breeder were getting quite good at catching them.
