Hullo,

A few mins ago I was busy taking few month old mollies and platties from my fry tank, that I put older fry in and putting them in my 5 ft long, room dividing community tank.

Whilst I was thus engaged I spotted a swordtail with a queer looking, bright red eye.

The fish is eating and swimming normally, everything is fine, except for the poor chaps mad looking eye.

It isn't pop-eye, the eye isn't bulging at all.
It is just bright, bright red.

The tank is 5ft long, by 2 ft by 2 ft.
It has been cycled for 4 months and contains about a hundred fish-a mix of guppies, plattues, mollies, swordtails, different tetras, plecs, and ADFs.
The water is perfect

I have read that it may be a bacterial problem, but before I start throwing anti-biotics and salt at the poor chap I thought Id get some advice here.

TIA

In case you are interested, this is the tank the poor fish lives in-

Can you see the bit of net curtain draped over the lamp to prevent my parrot craping all over my lamp!
Pazuzu the parrot loves sitting on that lamp.
