I've been going back and forth on what I should stock this tank with. Its a 29 gallon and I already have 6 glofish tetras, which are black skirt tetras to my knowledge. I have 2 pink, 2 green, and 2 purple tetras, not that it matters they all get along great. I was planning to add 2 more blue glofish tetras in the next couple days. Yes we went with Gloish because I have young children. I'd LOVE to hear some suggestions!

I like Tiger barbs a lot but have been told they may not get along with the black skirt tetras, although I have heard from other sources that they would do ok together as long as they are in a group of 6 or more.

Was also thinking about a angel fish but have been told 29 gallons wouldn't be enough. Again I've heard other opinions on this too. I started another thread on here about this but only got one response, so far. Honestly if I was going to start this tank over again I'd probably be getting a larger tank and keeping angle fish.

Since I'm new to this most of these tropical fish species are new to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think more tetras is ok. what is your ph?

I think kids would really enjoy a group of corys, since they'll exhibit different behaviors from the other fish, and stay mostly at the bottom of the tank. I don't know about your water parameters, though.
I'm just getting back to this hobby after many years, so I'm relearning a lot right now, but I do remember that the corys were some of my kids' favorite fish.
Another idea would be any single fish that likes to "hide." (I remember a very territorial dwarf gourami that hid and guarded his cave. The kids got a kick out of that.)
