Hello there, i have just noticed both my dwarf's look ill. They have like red spots, bigger than white spots sort of like inflammed red patches. The skin looks raw on these patches. Only the dwarfs have this, all my other fish seem ok. All stats are ok. I do around a 20-30% water change every week. I have ordered some Seachem Paraguard. Is this med good? It says it treats everything, Just wondered because all other meds i have had only treat specific things! I will do a water change in the morning and see how they go.

Thanks

Hi there - your gourami sounds like he has Hole in the head. It is caused by stress or a unsuitable water conditions.
I used Octozin to treat the water. Unfortunately both my gouramis died - but i think that was because I moved them to a hospital tank that stressed them even more. I hope your gourami's don't met a similiar fate.
Add some aquarium salt to your water as well. Good luck

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Do the red spots look like pin pricks or bigger.
Sounds bacterial but also can be caused by parasites.
Any flicking and rubbing.
