The male already in the tank has started chasing the two females again I'm worrie that the same fate is going to happen to the new females in the tank as the prevous two

Does anyone have any ideas on what I do to help them?

Thanks in advance

Maybe the tank is too small and they need more room for territories 8) , Or as many hiding places as you can .

well the thing with cichlids... is that when they have their territory established, any other cichlid or member of their species that enters the tank, will become a threat to their territory. I tried introducing a female for my male JD a couple years back before I understood this and the female was almost killed from hurassment within less than an hour... needless to say she need to be removed from the tank.

The best thing to try, is to rearrange the tank decor and do a sizeable wc, say 50%. This will make the environment new for everybody and give everybody an equal chance to claim territory.

Ox :good:
