To put or not to put that is the question _ 600L aquarium getting set up right now, 1.8 meters long : Do I put styrofoam on stand under aquarium?

Has it got a plastic trim that goes underneath the tank?

Well, it does need polystyrene or something else then; I've used carpet before.

all glass bottom with some kind of thin rim around bottom edge

Oh, if it's got a rim, that's a floating base and it doesn't need anything underneath.
