tank info: 10 gal divided, 2 1/2 for fry, 7 1/2 for adults, power filter, airstone
2 guppy, 2 swordy,2 platy

a few days ago i spotted my male platy and his fry rubbing against rocks and i thought that was strange, but didnt notice anything in the tank. then yesterday i found a little fry, coming from the swordtail who was huuge, so, i removed all the frys from my tank, including my 3 1 week old platy fry on the other side, and put them in a 1 L container, then moved the other adults to the fry side so the swordtail can give birth peacefully.

i kept them there until yesterday night and decided to get all the fry out, cuz my swordy seems done. 17 in all, plus my 3 platy fry. so then i put all of them back and noticed that my platies have white spots over their fins and tails. OMG.

so during the course yesterday to today i put about 7 tbsp of salt in my 10 gal, cuz i read that you should put 4-6 tbsps of salt if the water temp is 27, and 8-10 tbsp if the temp is lower. i dont have a heater so the temp is around 25 ish, i dun have any meds either. so how much salt do i need(more?) and what else i can do (except buying meds and heater)?

I would get a heater, very important as it stops your tank tempreture swinging about, and you need it with whitespot to speed the parasite cycle up set it at 30, plus buy a med.

also some of the frys are dying and they have spots too. is it safe for the frys if i use that much salt?

Sorry, it's usually one tablespoon to 5gal so you have over done it abit, so i would do a water change, do you have any others meds in the cupboard like methylene blue.

omg i also noticed that my platy has this small rip on its tail and there's white stuff around it.

Do you mean it looks fluffy.

Also are you sure they have whitespot, does it look like they have been sprinkled in salt.

Does it look like strings of cotton.

What does the white stuff look like around the tail.

nothing fluffy or cottony just like the a spot on the fin is missing (fin rot? dun think so, looks like it tho) and surrounding parts are pale/white

You have a bacterial infection on top of the whitespot as well then, I would try and get rid of the whitespot first, if they make it then medicate for the finrot.
