I'm going to change the sponges in my juwel internal filter.

How many, which colour and in what order top to bottom please??

why are you going to change them? you've no need to change sponges unless they're completely falling apart, i've sponges 4 years old and still going strong

as and when you do need to change them don't do more than 1 at a time and leave it a good 2/3 weeks between changing another.

but in all honesty i doubt if they really need changing just yet.

Ok I will just wash them in some tank water, Do you know how many I should have and what colour/order is best.?

i don't i'm not familiar with the juwel internals i'm afraid.

all we do for filter changing and cleaning is when you see the flow rate drops from the filter rinse half the sponges in tank water, next time it drops rinse the other half of the sponges

If you want to give one of the sponges a 'proper' clean, then a tap on full blast brings them up a treat.

won't this kill the bacteria??

Yes. But you've got other sponges and cleaning it properly gets rid of all the gunk (so it's like a new sponge).
