Hi

I am in awe of your planted tanks - they look amazing!!! I do use real plants in my 3 aquariums but nowhere near the extent of the ones I see here.

I have a new tank arriving at the weekend. The measurements are 121x50x71.5cm (400L). I need to make sure that it is as maintenance free as possible because its going to be quite a pain to get into once its up and running for a shorty like me

I will be running 2 external filters on the tank - a fluval 205 and a Rena external power filter 1350l/h XP3. Lighting: 4 x 30 Watt tube.

So can anyone help me with plants, fairly tall ones I guess! that might do well without the addition of CO2? Should I be using fertilisers? and I am looking at a fine gravel substrate.

Any help would be good help - thanks :)

Hmm, with that amount of lighting you will need CO2 i would think, otherwise the plants would not grow properly.
