Hi please can anyone tell me if my rasbora is sick?

Tank size: 30l biorb
pH: 7.2
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate:5
kH:
gH:
tank temp: 24

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):
2 of the small harliquin rasbora have gone very pale? im not sure what sex they are? the black colouring has faded. The fish are eating and swimming normally.

Volume and Frequency of water changes:
I did my first tank clean yesterday only rinsing my filter sponge very gently it was still quite dirty when i put it back in so as not to destroy the bacteria.

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank:
Stress coat decholrinator

Tank inhabitants:
4 neon tetras, 1 white cloud minnow

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration):
1 real plant not sure what type

Exposure to chemicals:
None

Thanks Pauline :thanks:

You did rinse the filter sponge in old tank water and not tap.

Being pale can be stress, parasites, bacterial.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing, excess mucas, or darting, or laboured breathing.
Does the patch look bleached out.
Does he look bloated or thin.
What does it look like when he goes to the toilet.
Can he maintain his balance in the water.
Is he resting to onside on things in the tank. or resting in plants.
Does he act listless and lethagic.

Thanks wilder, yes i did wash the sponge in the old tank water and only very gently. none of the symptoms you listed apply at all? the fish are quite their normal selves! eating and swimming and behaving normally? maybe it is due to stress?
and not enough of them? but i cant add any more for a week or 2 as im still showing nitrates at 5 and dont want to risk it.
Im still testing every day so ill keep a close eye on them and when i can ill add a few more. maybe that will cheer them up :)

Thanks Pauline :good:

A nitrate of 5 is a very good reading. Its very rare that you have a nitrate reading of 0.
What your tap nitrate reading.
I wouldn't add to many fish as your tanks nearly stocked.
To be honest harlequins and neons really need no less than 10 gals as there shoaling fish.
Does he look pale when tanks lights are out.
He might be stressed due to what you said. Him being the only harlequin.
