Help Please

Hi im just starting out with all this i bought a 30l tank just as a starter to get goin iv just come to set it up and im sad to say i have no idea of what im ment to do iv washed the gravel and added it iv got a filter syster dont say what it is but if it helps the tank is a rena kid maxi but i need help with filter i got rena crystal aswell which i also dont knwo who to do with.

so any advice would be helpful and please make it as simple as you can lol

P.S sorry if it all sounds alil stupid just want to learn thats all

So do you just need help with the filter? Or do you need help with cycling the tank and trying to figure out what kind of fish would be best in your size aquarium?

Well, being that I live in the US I have not heard about your particular tank, but I did some research on it and this is what I found.

The Crystal that you have actually removes odor and some chemicals from the water, so that is not a bad idea to put in the filter. But if it is anything like activated carbon, which does the same thing, the effectiveness of the crystal is not going to last all that long. But the crystal is not all that big of a deal then is the beneficial bacteria that have to live in your filter that keep your tank clean.

As for the cycling goes, I would suggest to read the thread in the "New to the hobby" Titled "Fishless Cycling." (Some very priceless info) Here is the thread for you.

As for stocking the tank, I am not all that familiar with different kinds of fish as some people on here, and I would not want to give you the wrong advice with fish. So someone will come along soon and help you with that.

But first is first, you must cycle your tank before adding fish.
