Our blood platy is swimming eratically almost vertical and its nose seems very red, can anyone offer an explanation as to what the cause may be, thanks

It does sound like a swim bladder problem, do you know the current water parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite and ph) ?

Is your tank cycled?
How often do you do water changes?
