Could anyone please help me to diagnose and treat my mother's fish tank?

The symptoms are as follows:
White/grey patches on the body and fins
White spots/lumps on fins
Lethargic behaviour
Flicking on rocks/pebbles

Diet is normal; all fish are still eating (frozen blood worm, flake, algae wafers, catfish pellets).

This has been present for approx. 1 week, with the white markings becoming more promanant.

They start with a small white mark on their fin/body, by end of day the mark has spread across the remainder of the fish.

The Ghost Knives have the strange markings across their spines, and the Severums have the markings on their fins and near their tales.

They have a very sick Cory (white markings on the body and near the head), who cannot retain his balance and keeps falling to one side.

Their is one Molly that has a white fluffy substance on his head - this may be related or a complete coinsidence.

Some of the dead do not have any noticiable cause of death (no bloating/damage/fungus etc).

I will try to send pictures once I can gain access to a bluetooth device.

I've looked through my fish books and cannot identify this problem - it may be fungal or parasite?

Please could someone help!

does the "white puffy stuff" look like cotton wool, Does the molly have any signs of dammage before the Growth/Still have it. The molly from your description sounds like a cottony growth or cotton mouth. Pimafix will help this.

We need your water stats as dane said to help any further.

Shang hi

It does sound like white spot.... the reason that I have come on this forum today is about the same problem.

I have lost 3 clown loaches, 1 Guarami, 3 Tetras, Shark Fish, 2 Shrimps, 1 Cat Fish and two mollies.

The Clown loaches displayed signs first of all.... so visited local pet shop and purchased treatment. Did excatly as it said, however the fish still died.

Took water sample.... however this was excellent.

Very upset, as had fish for ages. Got a 2 year old plec and 2 upside down cat fish and dont want to lose these.

We bought 2 kissing Guarami's from a new pet shop and this seems to be when the white spot started. One of the guarami's has an unusual yello mark on the side.

Does anyone know of anything that I can do.
