somebody HELP! I have had a Bala shark for 4 years now. I have a 55 gallen Tank, and watched my baby grow from 1 !/2 inches to an amazing 9 1/2 to 10 inches in the last 4 years!! About 2 days ago he (She ??) STARTED SWIMMING VERTICALLY enstead of Horozontal!!!!!!!! What is wrong??? I haven't changed anything, food, water, temp., EVEN have the same fish I have when I bought him! Any help would be APPreciated!!!!!!! thanks Chris

Chris,

I do not have any sharks and am not familiar with them, sorry I can't help.

You should post this topic in tropical fish emergencies as that is where you will get the most assistance. You should immediately add the water parameters and temp, size of tank, and other tankmates to expedite the advice process.

Hopefully your shark will be okay.

You do realize there is an emergency forum right below this forum and that you're more likely to find appropriate help there, not to mention saving the mods time in moving this there.

Anyhow, I too think it's a swim bladder problem and/or stress as they are a schooling fish and I think a 55 is probably on the small side of their requirements. They do get big.
