I do not know what went wrong. I had the aqu. Set up before. I took it down and cleaned everything rocks the plants etc since they are fake plants and cleaned the filter and put new filters in it and i put it all back together this past sunday. I added water no fish are in the tank yet and today being tuesday it is very very cloudy yesterday and last night it was still clear what is going on.  Also Is distiled bottled water ok to use.??? I thought I heard it was good to use it.

Also My tank is 6.8 ph and the the other tested came back 0 % so I thought I was doing ok. I was going to add something to clear the cloudness but i thought i would ask all this first.

Could be high bacteria levels or algae bloom :) i wouldnt worry too much, while its still fish-free you have no restrictions :good:. What are your other water stats? (If you know), also, how did you clean everything? any cleaning products?

I used just hot water on the plants and stones , gravel and filter . I replaced the filters also but i might have used some dish soap that was on the rag i used to scrub out the tank o boy never thought of that but i made sure it was rinsed very good and whiped down.

and the stats for my # is ph 6.8 the ammonia was yellow 0% and theNitrite was perfect nitrates where perfect as the kit said. One of them was like 40 and the other was 0%) just cant remember what one was what! lol I made sure they all where in line with in the in the charts . But that was monday now its tuesday and it clouded up over the night. I guess I will test tonight.

It will be 40 for nitrate and 0 for nitrite :) which is good. Dont worry too much about possible dodgy cloth, as your cycling you'll have a few water changeto go through before anything living goes in so its all good :good:.

Thanks sj2k But what do i need to do yet then before the fish go back in.

Water Change? What do you mean I have to drain that tank still before fish go in and do i need to add anything to the tank??

Thanks
I was already reading it. Sounds like a winner.
Thanks
