Hello all,

Hope someone can help, I treated my tank with the interpet white spot plus did as requested on bottle which was to add right amount for size etc.remove carbon, then treat 4 days later then leave and end of second dose do a 30% water change which i have done.

Hoping it would have cleared but it didnt so i have treated again yesterday and will again on thursday ect.

But was wondering is this normal to retreat? why hasnt it worked the first time or is the type iam using no good. Please help im losing my mind on what to do

Any help will be much appriciated

Thanks Ang

It can take two rounds of treatment, have you raised temp and increased aeration.

Hi, Yes done both temp is at 27 is that too low didnt want to bump it up too much. so the treatment im using is ok?

will do thanks for the advice.
Also one more quick question it doesnt mention to do any water changes till end of treatment is that right? as iv read else where to do them either daily or every 2 days or is that for differant meds etc.

Thanks for the help

Only perform a water change during treatment if stats are bad, once you have finished the first course 30% water change.
So if you are retreating i would do a 30% water change before you start again.

Using King British White Spot Control and i have dosed 4 times so far and still think there may be another two treatments at least. Wish they had Waterlife treatments in lfs as i always thought their meds were the best years ago

Thanks again will see how it goes with the interpet. if no joy will try another Also the temp will not affect any of my fish like plec hoplo catfish and shrimp.
Sorry for all the questions just new to this.

Thanks again Ang

They won't like it thats why you will have to really increase aeration as it will be tough at the bottom of the tank, do you have an airstone. You might have to move the strimp with the med.

I have an airstone and also an orniment just turned them up now. but problems with shrimp as i have no hospital tank!!!!

Sorry know nothing on strimps ask in the the right section of the board they might be able to tell you what to do.

It's just above the coldwater section on the forum.

Thanks will do.
And thanks for your advice just hope all goes ok (fingers crossed)

Hi...during illness and medical treatment, water changes can help support your fish. Any improvement in water conditions can help reduce stress. I chose to do every other day water changes during treatment fo ich. I did 10% every other day and performed the water changes before dosing the tank to minimize medication removal.

Ich CAN recur and MAY require more than one treatment. To reduce the chance of this, it is important to treat PAST the day that you see the last spots disappear. As you probably know, the disappearance of the white spots implies conversion to the free swimming form. By treating beyond the disappearance of the white spots, you give an extra hammer blow to any remaining parasites in the water column. SH

Thanks for that wasnt sure you could while treating but will start that tonight and see how things go.

Thanks again new to this
