i have got an 8ft long 3ft high by 2ft deep fish tank coming and i have been looking at the pangasius catfish but i cant find anywhere what i can put with them i now they go big

I personally could not imagine so much wasted space (8 Foot tank) on such a fish as the Pangasius which in my view should be banned from the hobby.
Much more humane/interesting, to see these fish in the wild where they can easily find food, and have the space needed for proper growth.
At the moment,,I can only dream of an eight foot tank but I know precisely what I would do with it, and the Pangasius would not be part of it.
Plenty of fish would co -exist with the Pangasius when the catfish is small, but as the fish grows..the fishes kept with it would need to grow too large to be considered food.
What are your plans for Adult Pangasius?

i already have a 12ft long 9ft wide 4 1/2 ft deep out side pond with a shed built over it at the bottom of the garden and my red tale cat is more then happy in it what would u put in an 8 ft tank then

My eight foot tank would be planted low tech, Non CO2, with large driftwood pieces, large smooth river stones. Several hundred small tetra species, pencilfish, and three or four dozen corydora's.

thank you very much for your reply just getting ideas for what i can put in it :good: :good: :good:

I would agree that the hundreds of tetras would look amazing! i a thinking of doing something similar in a 4 foot tank I have. no feature fish but just 2 big shoals of tetra, black widows and lemons. then some cories for the bottom, a couple of hoplo catfish for entertainment and then 1 plec of some form which will go in after a few months. nice and easy to maintain and will look the bees knees i reckon!

HUGE TANK !

How about a nice shoal of Copper Harlequins ? They are an amazing colour.

A shoal of 10+ Clown Loaches would look nice in there too. Are you wanting a community or predatory tank?

That's what I would do too. Now that sounds nice :shifty:
